Kerala: Astrophysics and 14-year-olds may seem like a ‘paradox’, but the future and present will co-exist when Hannan Binth Hashim delivers her lecture on astrophysics at Universities of Boston, Chicago, Texas, Massachusetts Institute of Technology and 17 others across the world. Hannan’s six-monthlong cruise will begin this July.
A resident of Kozhikode and a class X student, Hanaan is an aspiring astrophysicist and mathematical researcher. Through her research titled ‘Absolute Theory of Zero’ she is questioning the accuracy of many existing theories like Albert Einstein’s ‘Theory of relativity’ and the Big Bang Theory.
With a mentor in Dr Soumya Vasudevan, a Hind Rattan award winner, Hanaan’s works are being considered for publishing in ‘American Journal of Theoretical Physics’.
“Absolute Theory of Zero is a new mathematical system which explains the established theories in a different light. Through the theory I’m trying to explain that the speed of light is not constant always,” she explains.
“Discovering the hidden concepts of universe does not lie only in new scientific theories but also in the unexplained corners of old theories.” Hanaan developed a keen interest in astrophysics while studying in eighth standard. According to her mother Ayesha, she used to read the books of her elder sister, who was in twelfth then.
She is a regular visitor to the observatories at Kozhikode and Bangalore, where she does her research.
Her works have been appreciated by former President A P J Abdul Kalam, scientists at IISc, IIMSc and many leading research institutes around the world including NASA.
Hanaan believes that the conditions in Venus are conducive to sustain life.“Scientists should overcome the atmospheric challenges of Venus and should be willing to probe more. Like Mars, which we believe can sustain life, Venus too is a promising planet,” she said and added that the scientific community should accept that the universe is constantly changing.
“My question is why are theories replacing theories. Einstein was right during his time. Today I might prove him wrong and tomorrow someone else will prove me wrong.” Hanaan participated in the NASA space camp which was held last month and said that she was thrilled when a model rocket designed by her was launched.
She is gearing up for Siemens Westinghouse Science and Technology competition for high school students in October this year in the US where she is likely to meet US President Barack Obama. “I’m already in touch with President Obama and am looking forward to meeting him. He has always been a source of inspiration for me.
ISRO chairman Madhavan Nair is also a huge support and inspiration,” she said and added that Indian students have huge potential and wants the scientific community in India to set up more institutions to hone the skills of the young talent pool…..

its true that hannan was a little overhyped, its not the problem of hannan, its with the media… news guys need news with higher value, so they push things up for layman…
her knowledge is limited to her current education level and experience, so ofcourse her theories would have limitations.. and ofcourse her papers might not have been published becoz maybe it couldnt be proved considering the reality constrains whn it reached universities.

I have started to feel that this girl is a real hoax. After a long silence, she chose to speak yesterday and look above what she has chosen 2 speak. People have started to use the hoax word to describe the incident. The two reporters who first brought her to limelight have vanished without a trace. Mathrubhumi has removed the news from its link and wikipedia has issued warning that it will remove the page about her very soon citing that it is probable hoax. Nothing has touched her or her parents.
The only thing that has changed about her is the spelling of her name. it is now Hanaan Bint Hashim. That is the name in her “LinkedIn” site.
A malayalam blogger Chitrakarans has discovered in his blog ( http://chithrakarans.blogspot.com/2009/09/hanan-binth-hashim.html ) a new address where there are two comments on this name ( http://talkislam.wordpress.com/2006/05/29/quantum-physics-confirms-islam/ ). I sincerely hope it is not the same Hanaan, for the kind of comments she has made there are pathetic and totally communal.
There are billionaires in the middle east countries who are prepared to shell out any amount for the sake of islamic science, islamic scientists, quranic science, disproving theory of evolution etc. This may be an attempt by her parents to exploit such sentiments. the poor girl knows nothing.
As for me, I initially felt sad that I had not known Hanaan in spite of being a keralite. Today I feel ashamed that I share the same birthplace as hanaan.

I take this oppurtunity on behalf of Ms Hanaan Bint Hashim,to let the world reveal the truth.We met from BU,when Hanaan was invited for an event.As an elder,I do have a responsibility to enquire from people,their responses,the responses from scientists,and from herself.
First of all,Hanaan Bint Hashim..she comes from a good background,and let people make sense the falsity which is claimed by people is utter no-sense. Its easy for her to capture wealth,if she wants from her research,and but she proved that she neednt want immense wealth after all from her research.There are contracts,which Hanaan has not signed with few companies.It is because she does nt want to risk her longlife in contract with big sum of amount.It really makes a sense here,If she was a person who wants wealth,or by media publicity,she should have done that..but instead she has nt,bcoz she is a young matured girl who believes not to risk her life with money,wealth and fame.
Hanaan Bint Hashim reports..I started reading a lot of reports only after I met her in person .I took an immense interest in her, and after all she is a young kid,who is not worried about her things and she still carry on with her work,because she has no interests in Gossips about people.
AS far as I know the greatest difficulty for everyone to believe this news is majorly because of two reasons :
1) Media has played a very bad role , in creating a worse career for Hanaan,that has effected in playing gossips with people too because of the very misunderstanding. During this visit,Hanaan clearly stated at the lecture, that If media is doing purposely or not,she has nothing to do with it,but she will be ready to answer for millions of people ,who are curious to know about her with a very fine proof,she shall be coming to us,so let us wait for her,after she is a human,she will surely have to make modifications in her theory.such things has to take place when time pass by…We all cannot expect a very sudden result after all.because this field is very very vast..and since Hanaan has made a move,and when she told she IS Ready to make people know ..we shall not have anything to critiicise with her.
2) Second biggest reason , is that people should realize that in a such a sudden wave in a morning,people hear about the news that such a genius has marked the world with her theory..Obviously that would be difficult for anyone to believe,even myself…But people who are wise has to think this way

Hanaan is going to come up with the latest proof after she clears up her B Ainterview with her MIT alum at her nearest location which is at Bangalore,India and the works about her latest research presentations.

Hanaan been to M.I.T back few weeks after she was invited to attend a series . She is clearing up a lot of things and she is putting a very immense stress on her work..When enquired about MIT next classes begin on fall Sep 2010. And I heard from them,if then Hanaan will get her financial packages in the Mid of Feb-March.. and I clearly made a enquiry and its stated that M.I.T doesn’t require a high school completion if the kid is extremely on….Its true that its very very limited. But M.I.T Made it clear. It stated that Hanaan has got 2 very strong reccomendations that will hopefully make a great venture.

Its not very neccesary for Hanaan to take her TOEFL exams if she is an international student,because she has taken Special english courses instead of her main language that keeps up the grade.But there is no problem if Hanaan clears the exams too.She can even appear for IELTS in which its just a test based on 10. Her reports claims that she has done with this special E.Principal defnitely has a copy that she has not been doing her Na language courses.I will clearly verify this soon.

From the style and the content in the post written by “Naiza”, the author appears to be nobody other than Hanaan herself. I say this because I have seen and analysed some of Hanaan’s posts and it strongly resembles to some of them.
I personally know, by now, some of her sponsors have realized the fraudulent nature of her claims, including “presentations” at big universities, have withdrawn their support.
This kid has some good talents and is intelligent. What she lacks is the real guidance. She has to learn to be truthful and honest. She lacks both these qualities… unfortunately. It is not late for her to correct herself or for her guardians to guide her properly. It is a pity that her talents will be wasted by going for this kind of short cuts to get some money and instant fame in a wrong way.

I have met her once for few minutes, She is a fantasy kids, she makes other believe her story , but she has come to find out the procedure for admission in MIT/Harvard, she made us believe that she has got admission in MIT, bullshit nothing true, she is never going to get admission without 12+, she has come down to Boston to find out admission procedures , a malayalee way of going to college and finding procedures. I think Sponsors have spoiled her i think by showing the money for nothing. She has/may have talent, she should concentrate on her studies at this age. she should forget about her fantasy and fooling attitude.
